Ingredients
- For the Dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- Water (as needed)
- A pinch of salt
- For the Filling:
- 250g ground chicken (or any meat of your choice)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch ginger, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh coriander, chopped (optional)
Directions
- Make the dough: Mix the flour and salt, gradually add water, and knead until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
- Prepare the filling: In a bowl, combine the ground chicken, onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Roll the dough: Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch). Flatten each ball into a thin circle using a rolling pin.
- Fill the momo: Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges together to seal.
- Steam: Place the momos in a steamer and cook for 10-12 minutes or until the dough becomes translucent and the filling is cooked.
- Serve: Serve hot with chutney or dipping sauce.
